AI 101: Beginner's Guide to AI & Applications

This foundational three-hour workshop helps business professionals and beginners understand core Artificial Intelligence concepts and practical real-world applications without requiring any coding or technical background.

Co-organised by HKAIIA and the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) Smart Manufacturing team, this hands-on session provides a structured introduction to foundational AI technologies, data mining models, and the complete AI project lifecycle.

The session will be delivered in Cantonese by an expert tutor assigned by HKPC, bringing practical technical expertise and industry use cases.

Key topics covered in this workshop include:

• Core AI Fundamentals: Clear definitions of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Deep Learning (DL), alongside their practical scope.
• AI Application Scenarios & Use Cases: Practical implementations across natural language processing, computer vision, data mining, planning & optimisation, and generative AI.
• Core Data Mining Models: Introductory overview of classic classification, regression, and decision tree models.
• End-to-End AI Project Development Workflow: The full lifecycle from conceptualisation and data processing to deployment, fine-tuning, and post-deployment optimisation.
